Why buy a vintage travel trailer? Because they are so well built! These trailers were built by engineers from the aircraft industry after WWII. Most camp trailers made today use cheap mobile home production methods using wood studs, paper thin aluminum, and blow-molded plastic.
My favorite is the Silver Streak trailers built after 1966. If you can find a Boles Aero or Barth travel trailer, they are the ultimate prize. The Barth is the most overbuilt trailer ever made. The vintage Airstream, Argosy, Streamline, Avion, and Spartan Spartanette camp trailers are good too.
Unlike an old car, you don't need to be a gearhead to restore a vintage trailer.
